Mini Jemez Leather Drum by Everett Fragua

Mini Jemez Leather Drum by Everett Fragua

$22.00Price

Pueblo drums are used when dances occur in the plaza of a New Mexico pueblo, beaten while the chorus of men sing for the dancers. A Jemez Pueblo man made these miniature drums to go on a Christmas tree. The leather he used is rawhide, lacing the top and the bottom just like the real drums, and he made a small drumstick to go with it. Don’t expect a drumbeat if you hit it because the drum is not hollow, but it will represent a genuine pueblo drum on your Christmas tree. It is one and a quarter inches tall (3.5 cm.). Colors may vary
