Susan has a cute little furnished house to rent the next time you visit Santa Fe. It has Santa Fe charm, garden views and it is located in a quiet neighborhood about 10 minutes from the plaza. It is close to the hospital and a grocery and a Post Office. It has two bedrooms and one bath, simple but comfortable.

In the larger bedroom is a queen sized bed beneath Susan's framed nineteenth century Thomas Nast prints from Harpers Weekly. This room overlooks the garden. The smaller bedroom has a twin bed. The sofa can make a "full bed" if needed.

The living room has a high beamed ceiling, clerestory windows, and a raised corner fireplace. The kitchen has a new dishwasher and a vintage 1950 O'Keefe and Merritt gas stove. The washer and dryer are Swedish front loaders, because water is precious in the desert. The dining room table is old New Mexico furniture, as are some of the chairs. Beyond the sliding glass doors a ramada supporting a wisteria vine makes another room to enjoy in the summer, and a cast iron Victorian table invites you to sit, surrounded by trees and flowers.

Rental fees are determined by the length of stay and time of year. Indian Market week and Christmas are more expensive. Smoking is not permitted in Susan's house. There is a $300 damage deposit, which is returned after inspection of the Casita. Susan's Casita is rented for the period from late June through the first week of August, 2005. If you are interested in renting other times, call Susan at Susan's Christmas Shop at (505) 983-2127.
